Cambridge, MA - June 18, 2007 - Dataupia Corporation today announced that Focus Data Services has selected the Dataupia?Satori Server 12000 to achieve unprecedented access to data stored in its Focus 112 Disclosure System (112). The 112 software system is used by telecommunications companies across the United Kingdom to process police and emergency service requests for Call Detail Record (CDR) data and information.
Focus chose the Dataupia Satori Server to serve as the underlying architecture of the 112 system due to its scalability, ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness and unique ability to optimize legacy data systems. Dataupia has allowed Focus to eliminate disparate data sources and gain access to greater volumes of data. Additionally, the Dataupia Satori Server has improved the performance of inquiry times, making it easier and more affordable to process queries.
Focus' use of the Dataupia Satori Server has proved particularly beneficial in its work with telecommunications companies that archive data on tape. In the UK, the Police and emergency services make approximately one million requests to telecommunications carriers for historical call data every year. Considering that each day of data is stored on a separate tape, the administration required to retrieve 30 days of call data for one cell phone can be time and resource intensive. Dataupia allows Focus to consolidate data from multiple systems into one source effectively and economically, enabling complicated queries to be conducted much faster.
